  • Châtel is the perfect village to go on winter holiday with dogs
For tourism and pastoralism to coexist harmoniously, it is important to adopt the right attitude: keep your dog on a leash, pick up any waste and do not scare the animals. The mountains should remain a pleasure to be shared 😉

Can you ski with a dog?

Do you dream of skiing but can't bear to leave your dog behind? Unfortunately, skiing with your dog on the slopes is prohibited, as you would endanger other skiers and your companion. However, you can enjoy relaxing moments with your dog after a day on the slopes, on the various footpaths in the resort, accessible from the village, the Bords de Dranse, the La Chapelle d'Abondance Nordic area or the Châtel ski area.

Can you take your dog to a nature reserve?

While most nature reserves allow dogs, specific rules may apply. Some sites, such as the Chablais Geopark, require dogs to be kept on a lead to protect the local wildlife. Before your visit, it is always a good idea to check the regulations in force to respect the environment and the tranquillity of the area. Feel free to contact the Châtel Tourist Office!
